There's loads of news to ring in the New Year.

• The Dr. Helen Creighton Folklore Society honoured my work again this year with a Folklore Research Award. – Thank you for your generosity in 2002 & 2004!
  
  
• New CD: “legacy’ was completed and released in Nova Scotia in July. The first run is nearly sold out so the official release in Ontario will have to be a ‘re-release’!
  
  
• Oceanna Music Publishing has added me to their roster of female Canadian composers. Now my songs are arranged in choral format, suitable for high school/community SATB and/or SSA choirs and distributed all over North America at your local sheet music store or online at www.oceannamusic.com . This summer, the Tatamagouche Area Singers under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Spence & I sang my Évangéline and Anna Swan – what a moving experience - everyone in The Creamery was touched by the very special choral rendition of the story of the Acadians and our NS Victorian Giantess.
  
  
• I was asked to sing at Government House for the Lieutenant Governor’s Garden Party. I musically opened the gorgeous day with our O Canada and sang throughout, closing with The Queen, accompanied by the amazing Statacona Band – what a thrill! The day was perfect, the hosts, Their Honours Myra and Lawrence Freeman, were amazing, gracious and such friends of Nova Scotia. An inspiration to us all!
  
  
• After 11,000 km and a full summer of concerts around NS at NS Museum sites, community museum sites and concert halls, with a grand finale at the new Live Bait Theatre in Sackville, NB - home of Mount Allison University, my beloved alma mater - the fun continued into the autumn with a return 10 day, 6 concert mini-tour during Nova Scotia Music Week. The 'fun' was meeting students and singing at terrific schools such as: Bridgewater High School, Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro, Maple Ridge PS in Lantz where the Grade 4/5’s & I shared some very special time during a concert and choral workshop (Music Specialist & teacher, Margaret Graham was super!).
  
  
• Then, Ms Lily Zinck, dear friend and one of the wonderful women whom I've interviewed over the past few years, published her first book at age 88 (what a woman!): ECHOES OF DEEP COVE and I was honoured to share the afternoon with her at the Blandford Community Centre with a double bill: New Book Launch and Concert featuring my song, "Living Loom" (fr. LEGACY cd 2004) written from Lily's colourful and important stories of Lunenburg County's 250 year old German heritage.
  
  
• At 7pm on November 29th, Heather Fielding featured me on her Acoustic Workshop radio show on CIUT: www.ciut.fm . The show was/is webcast and my brother & sister in Australia even heard it! Woo Hoo! It was fun sharing all the maritime women's stories and Heather invited me back again on March 7th 2005 for her International Women's Day show. Thank YOU, Heather!
  
  
• So many stories have been shared with me this year; thank you all so much! To the radio show hosts who have interviewed me and played my works: CBC Sat AM shows in Halifax (Stan Carew), Ottawa and Toronto, CBC Radio 2 in Halifax (Olga Malosovich) CKBW in Bridgewater (Jonathan Crouse), CIUT in Toronto (Heather Fielding), CKCU in Ottawa (Susan Johnston), and CKPC-FM in Brantford, (Jan Vanderhorst), a heartfelt thank you!!!
  
  
• Magazines (Mount Allison Record, Business Speak, Rural Delivery) and books (Echoes of Deep Cove & a book on Anna Swan) have also published articles and/or my lyrics.
  
  
• It has been a banner year with bright promise on the horizon. Bookings are coming in for 2005 & 2006 and will be posted on the Concerts page. Thank you all for being such a big part of this journey!

  Nova Scotia Museum calls Rosalee Peppard a "True Partner-in-Heritage"

  Back with us for a third season, Rosalee Peppard is an extraordinary song-smith, storyteller, and performer. As she brings her Legacy 2004 tour to Nova Scotia Museum sites, community museums and cultural centres throughout the Maritimes, the Nova Scotia Museum is proud to claim her as a true Partner-in-Heritage. We applaud Rosalee's commitment to heritage: her extensive research to rediscover stories of Nova Scotian women of the past, her ability to weave the facts of history into words and music, and her talent in presenting her original songs to audiences in magical, musical performances. Her music is a gift to every Nova Scotian.
